Arowai IT Solutions launched the corporate website of a giant food chain.

JAKA Equities Corporation experienced market share of 60/40 in the industry, at the same time, started construction of new manufacturing plant, as well as acquired new land and equipment.

Weddings at Splendido by Ladera received the award “Best in Pavilion Display” in the Martha Stewart Weddings Bridal Fair held at the World Trade Center Tent Pavilion.

2008

La Esquina Spanish Restaurant was awarded as one of Manila’s Top 100 Restaurants in 2008 by Philippine Tattler.

JAKA ventured into the IT industry via partnership with Arowai Solutions, resulting to Arowai IT Solutions. The company provides consulting, system integration, design & multimedia services. During the same year, Arowai IT Solutions launched the corporate website of one of the leading telecom providers in the country as well as the delivery website of a giant food chain.

Under Ladera Culinary Services, Inc., along with Function 21, Petra & Pilar Restaurant was launched, serving traditional Filipino provincial fare and Spanish-influenced dishes in an upscale carinderia setting.

La Esquina was included in the 2008 Philippine Tatler Best Restaurants.

2007

LCSI launched Weddings at Splendido to promote STGCC as the perfect backdrop for destination weddings.

STGCC, along with Ladera Golfer’s Lounge and La Esquina Restaurants were launched

Casilayan Softwood Development Corporation signed IFMA 07 agreement with the government, increasing the company’s harvesting area to 12, 727 hectares

Ladera Culinary Services Inc. was established to become the official concessionaire of the Ladera Golfer’s Lounge and La Esquina Restaurants in STGCC.

JAKA Food Processing Corp. launched new brand Delimondo, which was geared to fully utilize the existing food processing plant.

JAKA Chief Operating Officer Katrina Ponce Enrile, who directly oversaw the operations of the company during the crisis period, was appointed as President and Chief Executive Officer.

After steering the JAKA Group of Companies through its period of rapid growth and highest profitability, (Congressman / Hon.) Jack Enrile assumed the position of Vice Chairman of the Board, entrusting the day-to-day operations of the JAKA Group of Companies to then Chief Operating Officer Katrina Ponce Enrile

Began construction on the 277-hectare Splendido Taal Residential, Golf and Country Club along the Tagaytay Ridge. The development was launched the same year

The company acquired Barney Foods International Incorporated from Metro Pacific, and subsequently renamed the company to JAKA Food Processing Corporation.

1993

JAKA Equities Corporation was formed as a holding company for the JAKA Group’s manufacturing concerns, which was intended to eventually serve as the vehicle for the company’s initial public offering (IPO).

The company developed JAKA Village, a 2.3-hectare affordable housing project in San Pedro, Laguna and the JAKA Plaza, a 5,500 square meter strip mall along Dr. A. Santos Avenue in Paranaque City.

JAKA Tagaytay Development Corporation was established to develop the Tagaytay property into a first class golf course and residential subdivision. JAKA Property Management Services Corporation, was formed to manage and develop the existing properties of JAKA, as well as that of third party clients and was subsequently renamed to JAKA Property Development & Management Corporation (JPDMC)

JAKA Foundation, Incorporated was formed to institutionalize the fulfillment of the JAKA Group’s corporate social responsibility. Casilayan Softwood Development Corporation implemented its 5-year integrated tree-planting program.

Pacific Royal Basic Foods, Incorporated was established to operate the newly rehabilitated desiccated coconut factory in Candelaria, Quezon and began exporting desiccated coconut products directly to its consumers in North America and Europe.

Sigma Security Services, Incorporated was formed to provide personnel and installation security to JAKA’s affiliate companies.

January 1977 - January 1978

JAKA completed its initial venture capital acquisition by taking over several bankrupt wood and match manufacturing factories. It was then that Eurasia Group of Companies was formed to manage the company’s investments in the lights and wood industry.

Following the creation of the Eurasia Group of Companies, more affiliates were formed out of the newly rehabilitated companies: Royal Match, Incorporated; Eurasia Match, Incorporated; San Jose Timber Corporation; Dolores Timber, Incorporated and Casilayan Softwood Development Corporation.

August 1974

JAKA Investments Corporation (JIC) was formed by its principal founders Senator Juan Ponce Enrile and Ambassador Cristina Castañer Ponce Enrile and first held office at the ADC Building along Ayala Avenue, Makati with only five (5) employees including the President & CEO and an asset base of Php 50.0 million.

The Company and its main business then, was to manage family’s investment portfolio in the domestic capital and money markets as well as leasing the various residential properties of the family.
