When the Group bought a small mill in Candelaria the following year, few suspected that this modest acquisition would later form the backbone of JAKA's desiccated coconut business. Thus, in what is now regarded as the Mecca of the world's desiccated coconut business, Pacific Royal Basic Foods, Inc. (PRBFI) was established.

Boasting 700 highly-skilled workers led by management team widely regarded to be among the industry's finest, PRBFI ships its SUNRIPE brand worldwide, with our own regional offices in North America and Europe - Desico International, Inc. and Sunripe Europe, Ltd., respectively.

In a crowded industry plagued by excess capacity and numerous backyard operations producing run-of-the-mill products, PRBFI has instead chosen to focus its resources on the continuous improvement and development of its people, facilities, systems, products and services ahead of any further expansion plans. PRBFI now supplies the desiccated coconut requirements of several of the world's leading food companies - companies with special requirements that demand stringent product, facilities, systems and management audits of their suppliers.
